Reception: July 9, 6-8pm
An exhibit featuring artwork created by juried artists during Paint It!, an annual plein air paint-out in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Due to the recent tragic flooding in Historic Ellicott City, the boundaries for Paint It! Ellicott City 2018 were extended to include all public locations within the Ellicott City zip codes, 21042 & 21043.
This year’s Paint It! Ellicott City exhibit also includes a benefit wall in support of the Re-CREATE: Ellicott City Artist Relief Fund. The wall will feature a collection of work donated by artists who have participated in Paint It! during previous years, or who have painted Ellicott City on their own. Many of this year’s juried artists are participating in the benefit show as well. A minimum of 50% of the proceeds generated by sales from this wall will go to the Re-CREATE fund.
Members of the public may mingle with the artists at the opening reception on July 9. Artwork created by community artists during the Open Paint-Out will also be on display in the Center lobby during the reception.
The juror for Paint It! Ellicott City 2018 is Bennett Vadnais, a Baltimore-based painter who specializes in the urban landscape.
