As the title implies, we are thinking of tunes about spring. “Spring is Here”, “Spring Can really Hang You Up the Most”, “Up Jumped Spring” and “You Must Believe in Spring” as well as tunes about the season including “Easter Parade” and “I’ll Remember April”. It’s all thoughts of warmer weather as the CJB swings you into spring.

From classic big band Latin tunes like, “Begin the Beguine”, “Caravan”, and “The Peanut Vendor”. To new arrangements of “Black Orpheus”, Mueva Los Huesos”, and “Mas Que Nada” arranged by our own John Zontek. You will have learned all about the clave and other Latin music rhythms by the time you merengue out of the hall.

Hear the heartbeat of classical Argentinian tango channeled by a quintet of top-notch female chamber musicians and their crackerjack bandoneon player. This is tango like you’ve never imagined it: classical chops, jazz harmonies, and intimate arrangements written for the group by outstanding composers in Buenos Aires.

This highly acclaimed American string duo, featuring violinist Peter Wilson and double bassist Aaron Clay, offers a unique voice to many musical styles by uniting instruments from opposite ends of the string family while performing music of the classical tradition, jazz, big band, folk, film music, popular song, and even funk.
