In this lead-up to Paint It! Ellicott City, students will learn the fundamentals of painting outside on location ‘en plein air.’ Multiple skills needed for quick draw competitions will be covered, such as framing techniques, simplifying the subject, composition, and finding color and value. This is a great course for those who wish to participate as a public artist!
Enrollment in this course includes entry into the 2024 Open Paint event for Paint It! Ellicott City, so by the end of the workshop, you will be able to take your new skills to the streets of Ellicott City to join the other Paint It! Ellicott City paint-out artists and be included in the Open Paint Artists’ exhibit at the Arts Council on Monday, June 10. For more information on Paint It! Ellicott City, click here.
