Every great series of art work starts with an idea, a question, or a moment of inspiration. But where do you go from there? This workshop is for students who are curious about photography and seek direction in developing their work. With step-by-step support, they’ll be guided through the process of imagining, planning, shooting, and presenting a personal photography project, informed by their own creative visions and personal narratives.  They’ll study the work of professional photographers, and consider a range of approaches, from long-form documentary to creative self-portraiture. Through assigned photography prompts, free-writing exercises, experimentation in perspective and composition, and critical group discussion, they’ll refine their projects and create a strong body of work.  Finally, they’ll curate their images, each ending with a cohesive series that reflects their unique perspective.
