Become a Celebration Volunteer
The Celebration of the Arts in Howard County is the Howard County Arts Council’s annual fundraising gala. More than 500 people attend the event and over the last 26 years the Arts Council has raised more than $1.8 million to support grants to arts organizations and schools, year-round visual and performing arts programs for kids and adults, and low-cost studio space for artists.

About the Celebration of the Arts
The annual Celebration of the Arts will be held at the Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at Howard Community College is held on Saturday evening in the fall.
The Celebration kicks off with a 2-hour reception where guests will have the opportunity to bid on artwork from the Art Auction and indulge in the delicious creations of some of Howard County’s best culinary artists. At 8pm, guests will take their seats in the Smith Theatre where they will enjoy the Rising Star Competition which will feature up to 10 of Howard County’s best performing artists and applaud the significant contributions of Howie Award honorees who create, teach, and support the arts in our community. At the end of the evening, our audience will cast their vote for this year’s Rising Star and winner of the $5,000 cash prize!.
