Work in the fascinating medium of encaustic and discover the endless possibilities. Using an electric griddle as your palette, enjoy painting in encaustics, a hot wax-based paint composed of beeswax, damar resin, and pigment. As you apply layers of wax, see the amazing effects such as translucency. Techniques taught in this workshop include fusing, carving, integrating collage elements, and working with oil sticks to emphasize texture. You are welcome to bring drawings, prints and photos to incorporate in your creations. All supplies provided.
