Red Writer and Yellow Stone make exuberant yet elegant statements at Howard County General Hospital and the Columbia Association’s Slayton House, their respective ARTsites 2019 locations. Artist Richard Pitts used welded and painted aluminum to create the sculptures, whose forms are suggestive of delicate curling ribbon.
Richard lives and works in New York City and has been exhibiting his sculpture since the late 1960s. His work is shaped largely by intuition, often without a specific plan or message. His objective is to activate the imagination. This is his first ARTsites exhibition.
ARTsites 2019 sculptures will be on display through July 2020. Stop by the Center for the Arts to pick up a copy of our ARTsites 2019 brochure or call 410-313-ARTS (2787) to request one.
