HCAC’s Visual & Performing Arts Camps
June 28 – August 27
Summer’s here! Don’t wait any longer – plan your child’s summer arts adventure by registering today for our Visual and Performing Arts Camps. Enrollment is limited this year due to COVID-19, so reserve your child’s spot before it’s too late!
Here’s a sampling of some of our available camps:
Tell Your Own Tale
Session 9: August 23-27, Grades K-2
Campers – get ready to use your imagination to create your own original character and short story. Throughout the week, we’ll develop and draw characters for inclusion in a unique story created by no one other than…you!
Pop-pin Into Art
Session 7: August 9-13, Grades 4-7
Come be inspired by one of the most famous art movements in history: Pop Art, which stood for Popular Art! Campers will be inspired by the likes of Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Claes Oldenburg, Roy Lichtenstein, and Wayne Thiebaud as they create art with both conventional and unconventional materials.
Shakespeare’s Soliloquies, Sonnets, & Swords
Session 7: August 9-13, Grades 4-7
Our oldest campers will explore some of Shakespeare’s more advanced plays and sonnets. They’ll hone their acting muscles through theatre games, acting exercises, and scene studies of a different play each week. Once a week we will explore (physically distanced) basic sword or staff combat and on Fridays, we will film a virtual performance for family & friends. This week we will focus on the play Much Ado About Nothing.
Camps will be offered in one-week, full-day sessions for students entering Grades K-7. Individual camps will be structured as learning pods consisting of one instructor, one counselor, and up to 8 campers. The use of face masks, physical distancing, and health screenings are among the other safety precautions that will also be in place.
