Installed at Gary J. Arthur Community Center in Glenwood, Hanna Jubran’s Nebula uses circular and linear forms to represent elements of outer space, condensing the infinite and mysterious into accessible, scaled-down components for the viewer to ponder. Themes of time, movement, balance, and space are central to Jubran’s work.
Jubran has extensive public art experience and has been a frequent ARTsites participant; his sculpture The Cycle, part of the inaugural ARTsites exhibit, has a permanent home on the quad at Howard Community College. Jubran received his MFA in sculpture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently a professor of sculpture at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
You’ll need to hurry if you want to view our ARTsites 2020 sculptures – they’ll be removed sometime this month, but don’t worry – a new batch of sculptures is on the way! Click here to check out the list of our ARTsites 2021 sculptures, to be installed in August.
