HCAC’s Visual & Performing Arts Camps
June 27 – August 26
Fill your child’s summer with fun and creativity – register now for our Visual & Performing Arts Camps! Choose from nine one-week, full- or half-day sessions for students entering grades K-7. Morning and afternoon extended care is also available.
Here’s a small sampling of our available camps:
Art Around the World
Session 2, PM: July 5-8, Grades 2-5 (4-day session)
Explore different cultures of the world and their unique art. This camp will look at prominent artists from around the globe, with campers creating work using the techniques we encounter.
Pop-In and Op-In!
Session 1, PM: June 27-July 1, Grades 4-7
Come explore two of the most famous movements in art history! Pop Art, AKA Popular Art, and Op Art, or Optical Art, a form of abstract art using optical illusions. Campers will be inspired by the likes of Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Peter Sedgley, and Yayoi Kusama as they create art and optical illusions with conventional and unconventional materials.
Prehistoric Party
Session 1, AM: June 27-July 1, Grades K-3
Campers will go back in time, WAY BACK to the time of the dinosaurs. They will create their own bones with clay, create stamped fossils and make papier-mache volcanoes. Prepare to be messy! Campers will also explore images of cave art and create their own.
Camp registration is available online at hocoarts.org/camp or by phone at 410-313-2787. Families are encouraged to register early as evolving Covid-19 protocols for the state of Maryland may result in a reduction in the maximum number of enrollments per camp.
