Located at the edge of the courtyard here at the Center for the Arts, Stephen Klema’s Rybee House II enchants visitors with its diminutive size and woodsy feel. Four unique sides encourage the viewer to take it in from a variety of angles while contemplating what sort of elf or sprite might live within.
Klema merges the old with the new in his work, using vector software such as Adobe Illustrator to develop his designs and then fabricating his sculptures with traditional building materials such as wood and metal. He has shown his work in regional and national juried exhibitions.
Klema received his MFA from the Hartford Art School and his BFA from the Atlanta College of Art. His sculpture titled Wood’s Revenge: Resawn was part of ARTsites 2014.
ARTsites 2017 sculptures will be in place through July 2018. Call 410-313-ARTS (2787) to request a copy of our ARTsites 2017 brochure or check out all 12 sculptures here.
