We’re pleased to announce that Heather Wandell has joined the Arts Council staff in the position of Development Assistant. Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. In 2007 she earned her Master of Arts degree in the Applied Healing Arts Program at the Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health), where she was inspired to publish her book, Monkey Business: 37 Better Business Practices Learned Through Monkeys. She has spoken professionally statewide and led training sessions to help spread the concept of therapeutic laughter and led the county’s Another Way To See It Laughter Club for 10 years before a couple of overseas moves. Upon her return to Howard County she worked as the Coordinator of Environmental Programs for Patapsco Heritage Greenway, coordinating more than 1,200 volunteers to remove over 29,000 lbs of debris from the Patapsco River and its tributaries following the Ellicott City flood of July 2016.
Heather joined the Arts Council staff in September 2017. Her responsibilities include office management duties, financial record-keeping, and supporting the planning of the annual Celebration of the Arts Gala.
