Artist Hanna Jubran’s Gypsy Passion, installed at Howard County General Hospital, is a tribute to dance. Using abstraction to express the universal concepts of the timeless art form – joy, passion, and celebration of life – the piece incorporates recognizable geometric and organic forms that invite contemplation and slowly reveal the content of the sculpture.
Jubran has extensive public art experience and has been a frequent ARTsites participant; his sculpture The Cycle, part of the inaugural ARTsites exhibit, has a permanent home on the quad at Howard Community College. Jubran received his MFA in sculpture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently a professor of sculpture at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
ARTsites 2021 sculptures will be on display through July 2022. To request a copy of our ARTsites 2021 brochure, email info@hocoarts.org, or click here to download a digital copy.
